Keller Canyon Mitigation Fund

The Keller Canyon Landfill Mitigation Fund (KCMF) process was established in August 1992, and the first allocation of funds occurred in November 1992. In 1994 the Board of Supervisors (Board) amended the land use permit and franchise agreement to combine the mitigation fees, as well as to provide additional flexibility in the use of funds and specifying that the fees shall be used by the Board in its sole discretion. The Board has designated that the funds be used to mitigate effects of the landfill site by funding community-based organizations and County Departments for programs in the following areas: youth services, code enforcement, community beautification, public safety, and community services.

In May 2011, the Board approved new policies governing the administration of the KCMF (PDF).

The Keller Canyon Mitigation Fund Review Committee recommends the following FY 2018/19 Keller Canyon Landfill Mitigation allocation plan in the amount of $1,466,120 for specified projects.
