County Celebrations

Contra Costa County thanks everyone who attended the 42nd annual tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Tuesday, January 21, 2020.Find out more on our Dr. King Celebration website.

The Supervisors recognized the 2020 Humanitarian of the Year, Tamisha Walker, co-founder and Executive Director of the Safe Return Project in Richmond, and Student Humanitarian of the Year, Christina Mazzi, a senior at Concord High School. The keynote speaker was Bisa French, Interim Police Chief for the City of Richmond.

Based on current Contra Costa Health Services’ public health guidance, the Cesar Chavez Ceremony event has been postponed. We will provide an update as it becomes available. Find out more on our Cesar Chavez Ceremony website.

Last November, we paused to thank our veterans for their service. The 2019 ceremony took place on Tuesday, November 12. Find more information on the Veterans Day Ceremony website.
