Contra Costa Certified Farmers' Markets

Contra Costa County currently has 21 Certified Farmer’s Markets operating in the county. A Certified Farmers’ Market (CFM) is an area approved by a County Agricultural Commissioner that allows California farmers to sell commodities of their own production directly to consumers.  County Agriculture Departments inspect and certify markets, growers, and production areas for compliance with the Food and Agriculture Code. The main focus of CFM inspections is to verify that growers are selling only what they have produced. This ensures that the public has access to high quality, fresh produce.

COVID-19 update

Due to the coronavirus/COVID-19, some markets are closed and all are adopting policies to allow for social distancing and limit the likelihood of disease spread. Certified Farmers’ Markets are considered essential businesses that are allowed to remain open, and many are adopting creative ways like curbside pickup and pre-ordering to allow the public to continue to purchase fresh produce and agricultural products. Please check the link for each market to see the most up-to-date information on the hours and operating procedures at each market.
