Got love? Got time? Are you 18 years old or older? Then we've got animals who need you!
We truly appreciate your interest in joining the volunteer team at Contra Costa Animal Services. We rely on our volunteers to support and supplement our shelter programs, and help us to provide the very best for the animals in our care. Just a few hours a week can make a big difference in the lives of our shelter pets!
Volunteer positions are available for adults age 18 years and older. We ask for a minimum commitment of 8hrs/month for 6 months. Volunteers must be able to follow directions and communicate with staff, volunteers, and the public with a positive attitude to support an inclusive environment in which everyone feels respected and valued.
UPDATE, as of 09/02/21: The County Board of Supervisors recognizes the continued threat to the health and safety of our staff and community posed by COVID-19. As such, all volunteers are to be fully vaccinated and must provide proof of their vaccination status to the County. Those with a qualifying medical condition or disability or a sincerely held religious belief that prevents them from being vaccinated may apply for an exemption.
